They Were Surprised to Learn Who Was Coming to Their WebSite, and What They Were Looking For

Western Diamondback

Western Diamondback Rattlesnake

This is the story of an SEO project we did for a non-profit organization that supports the national parks, monuments, and public lands of the Colorado Plateau. We discovered that 30 percent of their top keywords were searches for information about the snakes in Utah, coming mostly from Germany. "You have thousands of Germans coming to your site who are concerned about poisonous snakes," we said. Read the SEO business analysis project description and it's results here.

SEO Pilot Project for the Utah State Parks

This describes a pilot project we did for the Utah State Parks system, as part of a larger initiative to make the parks more economically self-sufficient. Read about the Utah State Parks SEO Pilot Project here.

Anyway, these links go to some very appalling but funny stories about how not to run a business:

They acquired a competitor for the user base and immediately laid off the tech writers. Oops!

"We'll save money by having the engineers and the lawyers do their own photocopying." Guess how well that worked.
